Victory at Sea – Yamato brings the might of the largest battleship ever built to your tabletop wargames. Armed with nine massive 18.1-inch Type 94 guns, Yamato was Japans answer to the dominant US Navy, designed to tip the scales in the Pacific theater. Commissioned in late 1941, she served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet before Musashi took her place. Though her role was largely defensive, she saw action at the Battle of Leyte Gulf, unleashing her formidable firepower for the first and only time in combat.
As the war turned against Japan, Yamato was sent on a one-way mission to Okinawa in April 1945, tasked with fighting to the last. Instead, she was overwhelmed by US carrier-based bombers and torpedo bombers, sinking with most of her crew. This highly detailed model captures the power and presence of Yamato, making it an essential piece for historical wargaming. Available now at Boarding School Games.
